The Environmental Affairs Advisory Committee (EAAC) and the Medford Green Team to host the Second Annual Community Environmental ForumTuesday, April 9, 2024 – 7:00-8:30pm Public Safety Building – 91 Union Street (This event will also be livestreamed and recorded for future viewing via the Township Website)This event, planned by the Medford Green Team Auxiliary and hosted by the EAAC, is open to the public and no pre-registration is required. The format will include a main speaker about native plants and gardens, plus a vermicompost demonstration featuring red wiggler worms, plus tables with exhibits and handouts addressing various environmental issues. Topics to be covered include the following:Native Gardens – Christine Black from Grow Native Gardens, LLC will be speaking on the importance of native plants and how to incorporate them into a home landscape. Her local business, focused on native plant garden designs, helps homeowners and businesses restore biodiversity to their landscapes one yard at a time!Composting – There will be a demonstration of a simple DIY vermicomposting setup that anyone can make at home. Composting is a great way to reduce food waste in our trash, and it provides valuable fertilizer for your flowers and garden plants. However, traditional composting can take weeks or months to break down food scraps and yard materials (leaves, grass clippings, etc…) into a useable resource. The use of red wiggler worms speeds that process up significantly, since they can eat and process up to half of their body weight in food every day!Environmental Information Table – We will have a variety of informational handouts on environmental topics of interest to our community. They will include such things as alternatives to plastics, green products, animal habitats, and much more! This event is free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required. ... Welcome to the Township
of Medford, New Jersey

Medford Township

This site offers everything you need to know about Medford; for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. To quickly navigate what's available here, please visit the Guide for using our Township Website.

Our Township is nestled between fertile farms and the Federal Pinelands Natural Reserve in Burlington County, New Jersey. Located 30 minutes from Philadelphia and 45 minutes from the Jersey shore, our Township serves as the hub of business and culture for this region. Unlike many communities, Medford has not lost its’ “soul” to the suburban sprawl which has consumed many of New Jersey’s towns.

Medford has a bustling Village area, where unique shops and restaurants line our original and historic “Main Street.” The residential areas in Medford have been created with respect for the woodlands, streams and lakes surrounding us. Homes of log cabins, Victorian estates and contemporary facades dot the landscape. Dedicated open space, private camps, bike paths and sidewalks allow for many recreational activities. With Medford’s border of a million acres of protected forest and over 50% of the township as dedicated open space and natural surroundings, we are assured of a quiet and healthy environment for the future.
