**The Utilities Department is asking residents to refrain from flushing wet wipes. Even though the labels may say they are flushable, these cause problems in our sewer collection system and can bind our lift station pumps. They may also clog your residential plumbing pipes.
Other items that should be disposed of in the regular trash instead of a garbage disposal or flushing include fats, oils, greases, coffee grounds and egg shells.**
Hydrant Flushing Update, 5/10/2021:
Township crews will be performing the annual spring hydrant flushing starting Monday, May 10th on the south side of town in the area of Atsion and Jackson Roads.
1. There may be a temporary drop in water pressure at this time.
2. Water may become cloudy; however discolored water is not harmful and will clear up in a short time.
3. Run your bath tub/faucets on cold only if you experience discolored water. Do not run any hot water until the cold water clears up.
4. Do not wash any white laundry while flushing is taking place.
If you experience discolored water for an extended period of time after flushing has been completed, please call the Department of Neighborhood Services Utilities Division at 609-654-6791.
