31ST ANNUAL APPLE FESTIVAL

This is our largest event and brings many people from surrounding areas to Medford. Perhaps it is the smell of apples in the air...Again this year there will be apple cider donuts, apple ice cream, apple cider, bags of apples and apple baked goods. There will be a Moon Bounce for the kids sponsored by Columbia Bank. Live music throughout the day by Jennifer Mylod and the Boys of County O’cean. There will be almost 100 crafters on hand with their handmade creations. Bring the family - there is something for everyone!

MEDFORD’S FIRST ANNUAL OCTOBERFEST

This year’s exciting new event will feature two beer gardens that will anchor the festival area running along Stokes Road. One will be located in Ironstone Village and the other at Beneficial Bank. Both will feature live music and great food. Additionally other festival attractions for the entire family will include:
A German-Style Band in Ironstone’s brand new gazebo, A classic rock band near Beneficial Bank Beer Garden, Guitarists and Vocalists performing along Stokes Road, Face painters, Magicians, Jugglers, etc. throughout, Pony Rides in Ironstone Village

MEDFORD-VINCENTOWN HALLOWEEN PARADE
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH STARTING AT 7:00 PM
Rain Date — Sunday, October 25th
The parade begins at St. Mary’s School on Rt. 70 just west of the Medford Fire House. The parade route comes down Fire House Lane onto Main Street of Medford and proceeds down Main Street to the Haines School. The parade is approximately 2-½ hours long and about 1-½ miles in length. A reviewing stand will be set up on the Southeast side of Main Street just before the Haines School. The parade is a combination of individual marchers, group marchers, floats, antique cars, fire trucks and bands from around the areas. This years bands will feature the Shawnee High School Marching Band, the Lenape High School Marching Band, the Seneca Marching Band, the B.C. Special Schools Pioneer Marching Band performing for their 32nd year, the Essex Co. Shillelagh Bag Pipe Band, the Greater Trenton Bags & Pipes and several Mummers Bands. Grand Marshall for this year’s parade will be Larry MacDonald from Medford, NJ who was chosen as the 2009 Medford-Vincentown Rotary Citizen of the Year for his dedication to the community. Individual and group Marchers can register to be in the parade at 5:30 p.m. at the front of St. Mary’s School. Individual marchers will be judged in categories of Children 6-12, Children 13-17, and Adults. Group marchers will be judged in categories of Small Groups less then 5, large groups 5-15 and Large Organized Marching Groups. ALL FLOATS must have a Halloween Theme and will line up at the west side of St. Mary’s School starting at 9:00 a.m. on a first come first serve basis and will be judged in categories of Commercial, Civic & Service, Individual, Community, School, Church or Religious and Scouts. US NAVY BAND COMMODORES

The Navy’s premier jazz ensemble, the “Commodores,” presents the finest in America’s truly original music. A specialty
unit of the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C., the group features 18 of the Navy’s top jazz and “big band” musicians. Under the leadership of Senior Chief Musician Philip M. Burlin, the Commodores combine the best of jazz and popular music. Free tickets will be available beginning 1st of October in the Recreation Department located on the second floor of the Municipal Building, or send a stamped self-addressed envelope to Navy Band Tickets, Recreation Department, 17 North Main Street, Medford, NJ 08055.
