RESOLUTION ACCEPTING FFY 2011 EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FUNDING
WHEREAS, the New Jersey State Office of Emergency Management is responsible for administering the Emergency Management Agency Assistance (EMAA) Funding for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2011;
WHEREAS, the Township of Medford has been awarded the FY11 Emergency Management Agency Assistance subgrant CFDA #97.042, which consists of a total amount of $10,000.00 including the $5,000.00 Federal Award and the $5,000.00 Local Matching funds. The purpose of which is to enhance the Township of Medford’s ability to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from acts terrorism, natural disasters, and other catastrophic events and emergencies;
WHEREAS, the Subgrant Award requires at fifty-percent match in the amount of $5,000.00, which the Township of Medford Office of Emergency Management adequately satisfied through the FY2011 municipal budget salaries, wages, and fringe benefits;
WHEREAS, the Emergency Management Coordinator and Township Manager of Medford Township have reviewed said application and subgrant award paperwork and find approval thereof to be in the best interests of the municipality/county;
WHEREAS, the Township Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and Emergency Management Coordinator are authorized to sign the appropriate subgrant award documents; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED by the Township Council of Medford Township
(1) that as a matter of public policy the Township of Medford wishes to participate with the State Office of Emergency Management (NJOEM) to the greatest extent possible; (2) that the Township of Medford hereby accepts the FFY11 Emergency Management Performance Grant EMAA Subgrant Award Federal Share in the amount of $5,000.00 from the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management; and (3) that the appropriate fiscal officer will accept the funds in connection with said project from the NJOEM and make disbursements through the municipal budget in accordance with said application.
