 ORDINANCE 2010-7

 

 

AMENDING CHAPTER 82 OF THE TOWNSHIP CODE

ENTITLED GARBAGE AND RECYCLING

 

 

            BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED AND ENACTED, by the Township Council of the Township of Medford, County of Burlington and State of New Jersey, that Chapter 82 of the Township Code be and is hereby amended as follows:

§ 82-6. Recycling of Leaves

E.                  Persons shall prepare leaves for curbside recycling as follows:

(1)        Leaves may be placed roadside only during the times dictated by the Township of Medford which times shall be posted by the Township on the Township website, Township newspaper, Medford Messenger newsletter or by posted sign.  Any leaves placed curbside outside of these times will be the responsibility of the homeowner to have removed. 

 

(2)        All leaves must be contained in an enclosure which can include, but are not limited to, chicken wire, plastic fence, etc.

 

(3)        All leaves must be free of all twigs, brush, vines or any other foreign debris.

 

(4)        Leaves must be placed no more than 6 feet from the edge of roadway.  No leaves may be placed in the roadway.

 

(5)        Any leaves collected by professional landscapers, contractors, or a person or company hired by a homeowner must be removed by said landscaper, contractor or person or company and taken and disposed of at a composting facility or other appropriate sites. 

 

            Section One:  All Ordinances and provisions thereof inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance shall be and are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency

            Section Two:  If any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause or provision of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid, such adjudication shall apply only to the section, paragraph, subdivision, clause or provision and the remainder of this ordinance shall be deemed valid and effective.

            Section Three: This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon final passage and publication according to law.
