Shamong’s Ambrus, 24, wins Medford 5K again

MEDFORD—The defending champions prevailed in both the male and female divisions in the 11th annual Medford Department of Recreation 5K Race last Saturday here.

Adam Ambrus, 24, of Shamong was victorious for the third consective year with a winning time of 15:37 on the TAC-certified 3.1-mile course that started and finished at the Chairville Elementary School.

Casey Doyle, 14, of Medford captured the women’s division of 67 participants. A member of the Medford Youth Athletic Association track club, Doyle finished the race in 19:58, which was good for 17th overall in the field of 196 finishers.

Doyle was just five seconds off her 2006 winning time.
